Hardy Amies - Neighbourhood Portraits
I was featured in a new video series by Hardy Amies of Savile Row. "Neighbourhood Portraits" explores a modern London lifestyle through creatives and craftspeople working in rejuvenated areas of the city.
Expert by Hardy Aimes:
Áine Hanson is an Irish born accessory designer and founder of Hanson of London in Shoreditch. From an early age she was inspired by her mother’s sewing machine, vintage patterns and thrift stores. Hanson studied Fashion Design at the Limerick College of Art and Design. Here she began to work with leather and created a degree collection heavily influenced by saddlery. After moving to London she worked designing leather collections for a number of large British fashion labels. In May 2012 she launched Hanson of London, aiming to combine the traditional techniques and values of the craftspeople she grew up around in Ireland with a more colourful and modern London-style. Believing strongly in the personal connection between craftsperson and customer, each piece is entirely handmade and highly personalised with materials meticulously sourced from local UK tanneries.
